Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, now for your pet

A medical treatment trusted in human care for decades, adapted for animals. Pure oxygen under pressure helps the body heal faster, fight infection, and recover from cases that are difficult to treat any other way.

What it is

Healing your pet breathes in

Inside the hyperbaric chamber, your pet rests comfortably while breathing 100% pure oxygen at increased atmospheric pressure. That pressure drives far more oxygen into the blood and tissues than normal breathing allows, which reduces inflammation, supports the immune system, and helps wounds and injuries heal faster.

Common questions about HBOT

Your pet is placed into a hyperbaric chamber designed specifically for small animals. At a maximum of 2 atmospheres of pressure (2 ATA), and closely monitored by trained staff, 100% pure oxygen treatments are given one to two times daily, with each session lasting about one hour.

Breathing 100% oxygen at 2 ATA for about 60 minutes is a remarkably safe regimen. Pets are not required to undergo any sedation and can remain calm and relaxed during treatment. All chamber operators are tested, certified, and follow strict safety guidelines to ensure your pet receives optimum care.

Many pet insurance companies cover HBOT for qualifying conditions under their policies. Coverage varies by provider and plan, so ask our team and we can help you understand your options for your pet.

CARE is proud to be among the first in the nation to offer a hyperbaric chamber made exclusively for small animals. We combine this advanced technology with emergency expertise to support healing in challenging cases, for our own patients and for pets referred to us by other veterinarians.

A recovery story

Hope

Hope, a two-year-old black Labrador Retriever, was found in Miami, FL with severe burns over more than 40 percent of her body. When she was discovered she was skittish and frightened, with a very small chance of survival.

Her emergency care included 35 total treatments inside a hyperbaric chamber. HBOT is highly effective at reducing inflammation to hasten recovery and assist with many difficult-to-heal wounds.
